Berlin, 8. November 2024 17:30 to 0:00
Dear scholars and DAAD-Freundeskreis members!
the regional group Berlin invite you to a tour through the Peter-Behrens-Hall at the TU Berlin Campus North! Accomplished in 1920, the hall was built for the construction of gas/steam turbines and is a monument of Berlin’s industrial history, associated by its name with one of the outstanding innovators in the field of industrial design and “corporate identity”. For many years, the hall has been used for experimental research by the Institute of Civil Engineering of TU Berlin. Both, the history of the hall and the historic industrial site TIB, formerly AEG (allgemeine Elektrizitäts-Gesellschaft), and the current civil engineering research of the TU Berlin will be covered during the tour, which will last approx. 1.5-hour.
After the tour we will have the opportunity to go to Mauerpark and have a picnic together. (Please take care of food/drinks by yourself).
