Munich DAADians together with DAAD scholars from other cities go on an extensive hiking tour. Destinations are Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Mittenwald, with a climb and overnight stay in the Wetterstein Mountains. Starting in Garmisch we hike past the historic ski jump to the Partnachklamm gorge and on to the Schachenhaus at 1866 m.

Here we spend the night. The next day we visit the botanical alpine garden and the Schachenhaus of King Ludwig II. On the third day we descend to Mittenwald. We can swim in Ferchensee or Lautersee along the way. In Mittenwald we visit the old town and the violin makers’ museum and then travel back to Munich. Good fitness required!
