Munich, 9. November 2024 19:00 to 0:00

The RG Munich experiences another opera by Donizetti at the Bayerische Staatsoper: “Lucia di Lammermoor”, one of the most popular operas (original name: “dramma lirico”) by the Italian composer. The premiere took place in 1835 at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples.

The libretto by Salvadore Cammarano is based on the novel “The Bride of Lammermoor” by the famous romantic writer Walter Scott. The focus is on two lovers from the feuding noble families Ashton and Ravenswood, who are only united in death. The opera is a masterpiece of the belcanto era and a milestone in romantic Italian opera, with Lucia’s madness scene (“Il dolce suono”) as the highlight.

In Italian. With surtitles in German and English.

20 tickets for students under 30.
