Regional Group Ruhr
Cultural Metropolis with (Industrial) History
Go boating on the lakes, discover avant-garde international art, visit the most beautiful colliery in the world – you can do all these things in the Ruhr area. We look forward to showing you our region.
At the beginning of each semester, we invite you to a welcome meeting. Every month, we organize informal gatherings, trips, excursions and cultural activities which give a balance of cultural visits, sightseeing, sports and social events – there is something for everyone.
Taking part in the Freundeskreis events has been very beneficial to me. Not only I enjoyed the time, but I have made friends with locals and people from all over the world.
Saptarshi Mandal (India)
Bochum, Dortmund, Essen, Duisburg – the Ruhr regional group includes the whole Ruhr area. That means our events take place in different towns. Let us discover the many facets of Germany’s most prominent metropolitan area together. Trust us, it’s really worthwhile! You will see for yourselves….
By the way, children are always welcome at our events. We wish to create opportunities for exchange by offering special events for families. The “Deutschland hautnah – Germany behind the scenes” program is only offered on an informal basis by the Ruhr regional group, but upon request we will be happy to look for host families.
