On the first Advent weekend in 2024, the Berlin-Brandenburg regional group took a trip to Halle to explore the State Museum of Prehistory and visit the Christmas markets.
How did the world in Central Europe look like during the Stone and Bronze Ages? Were the first humans more like apes or modern humans? How was the region connected to the centers of civilizations of the Bronze Age? The spectacular finds in the State Museum of Prehistory showed that our ancestors should not be underestimated. From the Neanderthals, who used birch pitch as a kit, to the world-famous Nebra sky disk, deep insights into the ingenuity of people in prehistory could be gained.
After visiting the museum, there was a city tour with the Leopoldina, the Moritzburg, the ‘Dom’, the Handel House and the market church, whereby the two Christmas markets in Halle were used to warm up and exchange ideas with the seasonal warm drinks.
